Customer delivery checklist: before, during and after your order

Before you order

Check the kind of service.Shopping and delivery asks someone to shop the list as well as transport it. Pickup and delivery is a different job.Think beyond the grocery total.Consider the store distance, shopping time, heavy items, carrying trips and access when planning an upfront tip.Choose replacement preferences.Where the app permits it, choose useful alternatives or a refund preference before shopping begins.Check the address and delivery notes.Use the correct building, entrance and unit. Put needed access details in the platform’s private instructions, not a public post.

While the order is underway

Keep an eye on messages when you can.A timely reply to a replacement question can save searching and waiting. Set preferences if you will be unavailable.Make the arrival easier to recognize.A useful building landmark or clear entrance description can prevent avoidable wandering.Prepare a safe drop-off spot, if you are able.Keep the permitted path clear and consider lighting, pets and doors that open outward. Do not risk your own safety to prepare.Respect the service’s boundaries.Check the offered handoff options. Standard delivery should not be assumed to include entering a home or extra assistance beyond the service.

After the handoff

Check the order promptly.Use the app’s support tools for missing items, damaged goods or other order problems. Keep account and order details private.Recognize the person who did the work.A thoughtful rating, a clear thank-you and any additional tip you choose can acknowledge the service.Keep the whole job in mind next time. What took time: shopping, waiting, driving or carrying? The answer may tell you more than the item subtotal.
